The stage was set for an event that brought together the power of partnerships and the spirit of volunteerism, all in the service of the community’s well-being. With a shared vision of making quality healthcare accessible to all, the Addis Ababa City Administration Public Mobilization and Voluntary Services Commission, St. Peter Specialized Hospital, Ethiopian Dental Students Association, Aster Volunteers, and St. Paul Hospital Millennium Medical College (SPHMMC) came together to orchestrate a day of healing for 230 residents who were at the heart of this endeavor.

The partnership that drove the Health for All event exemplified the essence of community collaboration. The Addis Ababa City Administration Public Mobilization and Voluntary Services Commission assumed a pivotal role, steering the event’s coordination and ensuring the community’s needs were at the forefront. St. Peter Specialized Hospital, esteemed for its medical excellence, lent its expertise to provide top-tier healthcare services. The Ethiopian Dental Students Associations involvement added a crucial dental dimension to the event, addressing an often-overlooked aspect of well-being. With the dedication of Aster Volunteers and St. Paul Hospital Millennium Medical College (SPHMMC), the event’s impact was elevated, showcasing the incredible potential of unity in action.

The heart of the Health for All event lay in its reach – the 230 residents who found themselves at the center of an initiative that truly cared. General medical screenings were conducted to assess and monitor health statuses, with a commitment to early detection and prevention. The Ethiopian Dental Students Associations participation ensured that oral health received the attention it deserves, a vital yet often neglected component of overall wellness. Ophthalmic screenings served to safeguard and promote eye health, underscoring the event’s comprehensive approach to care.

Beyond medical services, the Health for All event marked a pivotal moment of community engagement. Residents of Kirkos Sub-City were active participants in their own well-being, empowered by the resources and expertise made available to them. The event instilled a sense of ownership over health, nurturing a culture of well-being that extends beyond a single day.

As the sun set on July 31, 2022, the Kazanchis Health Center bore witness to a profound transformation. The collective efforts of the Addis Ababa City Administration Public Mobilization and Voluntary Services Commission, St. Peter Specialized Hospital, Ethiopian Dental Students Association, Aster Volunteers, and St. Paul Hospital Millennium Medical College (SPHMMC) bore fruit in the form of improved health and empowered individuals.
